My everyday carry flashlight is an Olight T20-M. It has a deep reflector that's partially orange peel and partially smooth. The result is a long throw and very usable short-range flood. It's rated at a maximum of 220 lumens (at the emitter, not at the front) and takes two CR123A batteries.
The Olight M21 Warrior is a fantastic light.
The build quality is top notch, as with any of Olight's lights.
It uses a quality (and bright) LED, and is as tough as a rock.
It's more suited, however, for short range use. I'd imagine it would make a fantastic light to stick on a shotgun for home defense.
My preference when it comes to lights tilts more towards the "throwers". I have a Fenix E01 that stays on my flashlight that I use whenever I need to find something close up, and my T20-M has both 7 lumen and 60 lumen settings in case I need a step up from the key light. Any other time my EDC light is on high (220 lumens).
The M21 is rated at a maximum of 500 lumens (at the emitter, not out the front) and its reflector is not necessarily deep, but is heavily etched in an orange peel texture. The result is a very smooth flood beam that can throw a respectable distance.
But when it comes to long-range performance my T20-M (rated at less than half the lumens of the M21) outshines it (couldn't resist).
My T20 throws a much longer beam than the M21, and that's what I prefer.
But remember, that's just my preference.
I wish that Olight would manufacture a replacement reflector that's completely smooth like they do for the M20 models.
Even though I like the less powerful (and cheaper) T20-M a lot more, I can still definitely recommend the M21 Warrior.
